CERTIFICATE COURSE ON PHARMACEUTICAL PROMOTION (CCPP)
Course Objective
General Objective:
- The course will provide the participants with the fundamental abilities needed to function as efficient and goal-driven pharmaceutical product promotion officers.
Specific Objectives:
- Providing basic training on anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, microbiology, selling skills, and ethical marketing to enable them to product promote on market successfully.
- Additionally, they will acquire knowledge of various pharmaceutical dosage forms, as well as knowledge of the relevant diseases and human systems so that they can be able to share this knowledge in front of the customers.
Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)
Upon successful completion of this course participants should be able to:
- Recognize the fundamental principles of pharmacokinetics (i.e. absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination of drugs) and pharmacodynamics (i.e. drug-receptor interactions, drug receptor binding etc.).
- Identify how drugs alter cellular function through the study of pharmacodynamics.
- Determine how the body handles drugs through pharmacokinetic processes such as absorption, distribution, metabolism, elimination, dose-response relationships, half-life, steady-state concentrations and volume of distribution.
- Learn major classes and specific examples of drugs, mechanisms of action, adverse effects and contraindications for drugs affecting the autonomic nervous system, cardiovascular system, respiratory system, urinary system, musculoskeletal system, endocrine system and central nervous system.
- Apply selling skills, ethical marketing, as well as the development of sales ability and the keys to achieving performance targets, sales planning and forecasting.
- Analytical capacity will be developed through lectures, group discussion, presentations, class participation, peer discussion, brainstorming session etc.
Duration
- This course will be a 12-weeks program with 24 classes in hybrid mode (both online and offline)
- Every Thursday and Friday from 6pm to 8pm (2-hour session with 15-minutes health break) (70% offline & 30% online).
Course Eligibility:
Any graduate (BA, BSc) or MA, MSc or LMAF (Local Medical Assistant & Family Welfare) or any person working in pharmaceutical company.
