The Mission of the Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging at the Bangladesh University of Health Sciences is to

Provide strong foundation for the present and future medical imaging technologists achieving knowledge through education and training.
Promote critical thinking on issues of proper diagnosis through medical imaging services in a safe manner.
Make a difference for patient care and the future of healthcare through continuing research and scholarly activities to generate innovative solutions and new knowledge

The vision of the Department of Radiology & Imaging is to develop qualified and skilled human resources in Radiology & Imaging technology with the overall goal for improving health care facilities as well as health of population.

To develop qualified and skilled human resources in Radiology & Imaging Technology with the overall goal to meet the clinical needs of a Radiology and Imaging department for a health care to improve the health of population.
To train students to work in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team to diagnose the disease on which further treatment can be done.
To support the advancement of the Imaging sciences and technologies through basic and clinical research in an effort to minimize patient morbidity and costs, improve the quality of patient care, and enhance the quality of life for our patients.
To be locally, regionally, nationally and internationally recognized as an outstanding Department for imaging research and scholarly activity.
To generate evidence-based suggestions for improving radiological diagnosis technology and technique.

Radiology field is expanding vastly in the area of medicine. Due to advances in computer technology, this field gets the advantage as it is closely linked to modern imaging. The career and job opportunities in the field of radiography are very extensive. B.Sc. Radiology & Imaging Technology has a great demand in profession.
B.Sc. Radiology & Imaging Technology in BUHS provides students with a diversified plan of students in conventional imaging &advanced Imaging (CT & MRI), Healthcare Management &Technical support knowledge (PACS & QM).
It also gives them general studies in a balanced curriculum to prepare them for advancement in multiple career roles or continuation to graduate study.
They can go for further degrees after its successful passing and then for research work.
