BPH IN HEALTH PROMOTION & HEALTH EDUCATION
- Exhibit up to date knowledge on the natural, behavioral and social sciences to promote healthy life.
- Empower and prepare the students to recognize the common health issues affecting all age groups in different settings
- Make capable of impart teaching, training and innovation for developing research and learning skills necessary in the areas of health promotion and health education.
- Obtain enhanced skills to organize, create, and carry out public health initiatives that focus on health promotion and health education.
- Attain advanced skills to plan, design and execute public health policies and programs aiming health promotion and health education
The program Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) in Public Health Division in Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS) in 2013. This Bachelor program is with promoting a healthy lifestyle and preventing illness and it includes social, psychological, political, and educational factors. Health education is concerned with informing people about health issues.
The BPH-HP & HE (Hon’s) Program will be conducted on a course & credit based structure with 48 of courses to be dispensed in 160 credits in total, completed in a minimum time span of 4 years. The course is consisting of theoretical classes, practical including field visits, community and clinical attachments, seminar and workshops. Student will design a project at the end of the course.
Since 2013
- A Candidate with SSC (Science Group) and HSC (Any Group) or their equivalents is eligible to apply with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in either one and a combined CGPA of 5.
- Foreign students with equivalent qualification are eligible.
- Equivalence will be decided by a Committee called ‘Equivalence Committee’ formed by the Academic Council of BUHS.
- Opportunity to serve as ‘Health Education Officer’ at Bureau of Health Education, Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
- Teaching posts in government and private institutions.
- Research position in the field of public health in government, non government and International organization,
- Opportunity for Higher education (MPhil & PhD),
- Position in development projects in policy making level at GO & NGO’s

Admission Eligibility:
- A Candidate with SSC (Science Group) and HSC (Science, Arts or Commerce) their equivalents is eligible to apply with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in either one and a combined CGPA of 5.
- O/A Level:
- Minimum 5 O-level and 2 A-level subjects
- Grade-B (GPA 4.00) in at least 4 subjects
- Grade-C (GPA 3.50) in 3 subjects
- Three -year Diploma in Medical, Homeopath or other programs are eligible to apply with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 in either one and a combined CGPA of 6.
- Foreign students with equivalent qualification are eligible.
- Equivalence will be decided by a Committee called ‘Equivalence Committee’ formed by the Academic Council of BUHS.
