  • Research Grant as Coinvestigator from Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) under Health, Nutrition and Population Sector Programme [HNPSP] in 2015 for the project entitled Relationship of endogenous antioxidant enzymes and total antioxidant capacity with B-cell dysfunction and insulin resistance in Bangladeshi prediabetic subjects.
  • President award in 1989 for securing 19th position in the combined merit list in SSC examination under Jessore Board.
  • I achieved especial expertise in PCR techniques, Gel electrophoresis (including automatic capillary electrophoretic system), DNA extraction and quantification techniques during my doctoral study in the field of Biochemistry and Biology at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. I served as Research Assistant (RA) at Nanotechnology and Catalysis Research Center (NANOCAT), University of Malaya, Malaysia and gained in-depth knowledge and experience in design and development of DNA biomarkers (primers and probes), development of singleplex and multiplex conventional (end-point) and quantitative real-time PCR (TaqMan Probe based) systems, Restriction digestion, Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (RFLP) analysis.

Doctoral Research

  • Developed short-targeted heptaplex PCR (conventional) and multiplex quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) assays for discriminatory detection and quantification of seven animal species in food products.

MPhil Research

  • Determined the association of Resistin, a pro-inflammatory adipocytokine, with the basic defects in type 2 diabetes and evaluated its role in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

MSc Research

  • Isolated xylanase, a xylan (polysaccharide) hydrolytic enzyme from gastrointestinal tract (GIT) and salivary glands of cockroach and determined its properties and functional activities.

  • Supervised and co-supervised a number of MS research students.
    Worked as co-investigator of several M Phil and MS research students doing research in collaboration with University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, Jahangir Nagar University, Bangladesh, and University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.
