The first MS in Health Informatics program in the country offered by any public or private Institute. The Rockefeller Foundation supported the establishment of this department. This program is conducted on a course & credit based structure with 17 courses to be dispensed in 70 credits (1590 hours) in total, completed in a minimum period of 18 months. Each new session commences in Fall and Spring every year (02 intakes per year). Health Informatics is a discipline at the intersection of HealthCare, Information Technology, and Computer Science. It is one of the most rapidly expanding fields and the increasingly demanding area within healthcare in both locally and internationally. It integrates data with patient care using cutting-edge technology and thus improves healthcare delivery, access to care, and health education & biomedical research. Disease prevention, diagnosis, monitoring, treatment, and patient’s outcome can be significantly improved through digital health. Government, NGO and development organizations are intensely focusing on this field to accelerate the transformation of digital health.

- MBBS/BDS or equivalent degree from any medical colleges recognized by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) plus one year internship training
- Bachelor in Biological Science or its equivalents from any recognized University
- Bachelor in Pharmacology and Allied Health Sciences
- BSc Nursing with registration in Bangladesh Nursing Council and one year of working experience
- Bachelor in Computer Science and Information Sciences or its equivalents from any recognized University
- Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery (BUMS) plus one year internship training
- Foreign students with equivalent qualifications are eligible.
- Equivalence will be decided by a committee called ‘Equivalence Committee’ formed by the Academic Council of BUHS
