Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS) offers a variety of scholarships and financial assistance for deserving students enrolling in the Fall 2025 semester. Scholarships are merit-based, need-based, and specially designated for certain categories of students.

⚠️ All scholarships are reviewed after the first semester and subject to renewal based on academic performance.

Scholarships based on admission test results and academic records:

   💯 100% Tuition Fee Waiver — For top scorers.
   🎓 60% Tuition Fee Waiver — Based on strong academic background and admission performance.

💡 Need-Based and Special Category Scholarships

BUHS is committed to supporting students with financial need or special circumstances:

  • Up to 50% Tuition Fee Waiver based on:

    • Admission test performance

    • Academic records

    • Verified financial need

  • Additional tuition fee discount for siblings qualifying in the admission test.

👩‍🏫 BUHS Employees’ Family

  • 50% Tuition Fee Waiver for:

    • Spouses and dependents of BUHS employees (if qualified)

🏥 BADAS-Affiliated Employees’ Family

  • 50% Tuition Fee Waiver for:

    • Employees, their spouses, and dependents from BADAS-affiliated organizations (if qualified)

🏆 Extra-Curricular Achievements

  • Up to 50% Tuition Fee Waiver for candidates recognized nationally/internationally in:

    • Sports

    • Debate

    • Performing & fine arts

    • Literature and journalism

    • Social service

⚠️ Special Circumstances

  • Up to 20% Additional Discount in case of:

    • Parental death

    • Natural disasters causing financial hardship

♿ Physically Challenged Candidates

  • Up to 100% Tuition Fee Waiver for students with physical disabilities.

  • ✅ A student may receive no more than two scholarship/financial aid packages.

  • 🔁 All scholarships are valid for one academic session and subject to renewal based on semester exam performance.

  • 🏅 Students achieving outstanding results in semester finals may receive additional scholarships.

Contrary to popular notion in our society health is not an issue only for the physicians but its development needs a concerted effort of professionals from basic, clinical and social sciences. In line with this concept, generation of human resources in health should not be treated merely from teaching and training points of views; research should also be equally emphasized in this venture as evidences based on geographical, environmental, ethnic and sociocultural background are a prerequisite for rational and cost-effective health care delivery in a population. Based on an internationally recognized research tradition at BIRDEM and BIHS which, in turn, are rooted in the long-term dream of Late National Professor Dr M Ibrahim, the present University aims to blend the three vital elements (teaching, training and research) of education to fulfill the ultimate responsibilities (knowledge dissemination and knowledge generation) of a higher centre of learning. With this aim Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS) has started its journey with full-time non-practicing (or institutionally practicing) faculty members and a number of highly reputed guest faculties and collaborating partners from all over the world. In public health, BUHS has taken a discipline-wise subspecialty approach which fits more with the present volume of knowledge and technological advancement in the area.We believe that studying in BUHS will be a pleasant and productive experience.
