Orientation Program for the students of Spring Session 2016 held

The Orientation program for the students of Spring Session-2016 of BUHS was held in the Ibrahim Auditorium on 31 May 2016. Students of different graduate and undergraduate programs were warmly welcomed with floral wraths. Students as well as Faculty members and employees were present on the occasion. Prof Liaquat Ali, Vice-Chancellor of the University initiated the program with a brief history of the tedious journey (since 1990) to realize the dream of the first ever private University in the country dedicated to health related disciplines. He gratefully remembered National Prof Dr. Ibrahim with profound admiration for his visionary steps in founding the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh with an aim that no diabetic patient in the country would die untreated. In his inspiring speech, Prof Ali called upon the newcomers to become empathetic in extending health care services in the future.

Prof (Dr.) Sk Akhtar Ahmad, Treasurer of BUHS congratulated the fresher students and inspired them to be attentive to their lessons to bring brilliant academic success. Prof. Dr. Shah Md. Zahurul Haque Asna, Dean of Basic Sciences, Prof (Dr.) Asirul Hoque, Dean of Public Health, Prof. M.A Hafez, Dean of Allied Health Sciences, Prof (Brig. Gen.) Dr M Abul Mohsin (Rtd), Dean Faculty of Health Engineering and Technology, Prof Dr Begum Rokeya, Head, Department of Pharmacology, Prof (Dr.) Begum Rowshan Ara, Registrar (Acting) and Head, Department of Reproductive & Child Health, Mr. Humayun Kabir, Proctor and Associate Professor, Department of Biostatistics, and few students among others addressed in the auspicious occasion and conveyed their heartiest felicitations to the students. Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS) has so far enrolled around 750 students in 25 graduate and undergraduate academic programs with six sessions since the inception of the University in late 2012.
