Hasina Akhter Chowdhury

Hasina Akhter Chowdhury, Lecturer in the Department of Biostatistics at the Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS). She obtained Master’s degree in Food & Nutrition from the University of Dhaka (2006) and MPH degree (2012) from the American International University- Bangladesh (AIUB). AIUB honored her with Cum Laude award for her excellent academic performance. She has 12 publications in reputed international/national journals e.g. BMC Reproductive Health (UK), Diabetes & Metabolic Syndrome: Clinical Research & Review (USA), Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice (Ireland), South East Asia Journal of Public Health (Bangladesh) etc. She has also in her credit two research-based books published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing, Germany. She has presented her research works in a significant number of regional/ international conferences at home and abroad. Besides academic and research activities she has gained considerable experience in organizational issues through her responsibility as an active member of some research projects (Funded by WDF, BMRC etc). She is one of the organizing associates of the ‘Regional Public Health Conference’ organized by Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS), Dhaka. She is member of a number of professional bodies including International Diabetes Federation, Bangladesh Health Education Society and Bangladesh Public Health Association.

Research interest: Her scientific focus is on epidemiological studies and high dimensional statistical modeling related to diabetes & other metabolic disorders and maternal & child health.
